Misc. Notes From the uploader's library. The title page bears the stamp of Ulysse T. du Wast's music store in Paris (Magasin de Musique du Conservatoire, 11 Faub(our)g Poissonnière) so we can surmise the score must have gone through the hands of one of the Conservatoire students nearby which accounts for the profuse pencil annotations in the score. Before being the owner of a music emporium, Ulysse T. du Wast (1839-1919) was a tenor singer at the Opéra Comique and singing instructor. Wikipedia article (in French) The most frequent pencil recommendations are ménager (restrain), restez (stay), sans monter (without going up), descendre (go down) and montez (go up).
