London firm founded by Zenas Trivett Purday (brother of Charles Henry Purday and Thomas Edward Purday; sons of Thomas Purday, for whom see also Button & Whitaker). Succeeded William Hodsoll and took over his premises (the erstwhile premises of J. Bland). He published from 1831 until 1860, when the firm was sold to Pottick & Simpson.
