(From Schlüren's preface - performed in 1821 in a concert with the composer's brother as violinist, then "As far as we know, the Violin Concerto was never performed again in Berwald’s lifetime. It was not until 19 May 1903 that the opening movement was heard again during a festive celebration at the Academy of Music in Stockholm. " and not in full until 5 October 1909 with Henri Marteau's advocacy and editing, and published in 1911 likewise.)
