An example or ten of this template - even the most default usage - in operation would be _very_ helpful, please- I'm trying to bracket my Lilypond incipit inside Inc and all I get is
<score></score>; the rendered code (though fortunately not the written code) disappears, though previously it had worked well without the template. Eric 22:18, 10 February 2014 (EST)
It's not working. Either <score> can't be utilized within a template (or there's a special way to format it) or I don't know what I'm doing. I'm thinking the latter. --Cypressdome 22:32, 10 February 2014 (EST)
- Are there other templates that accept multi-line input? (when one enters multi-line input into BdlF, I think one actually uses breaklines HTML-wise; here one actually has to use enter/return- not necessarily often, I've seen LilyPond files with very few of them (it may be possible, if very inadvisable for readability, to do without entirely, if one uses certain means to separate certain commands / lines from others without actual linebreaks - rather like programming in general anyway ... ) - that may not be the problem, I don't know. it is also possible to do without \relative, of course- maybe trying a very brief (hrm... c d e f g?) Unfortunately a -really- brief but working Lilypond incipit - <score>{c d e f g}</score> - well, {{Inc|{c d e f g}}} doesn't work, that's sure... it gives <score>{c d e f g</score>} Eric 23:23, 10 February 2014 (EST)
- The problem to the best of my ability to understand is that the template is using an incorrect method to attempt to call upon the <score> extension and to populate values for its attributes (lang, midi, etc.). I've looked on the wiki and cannot see any other templates that incorporate a mediawiki extension. All the extensions I've worked with, such as the BdlF one, simply allow the user to input text and the template then provides a formatted output. I've tried researching the issue on Mediawiki but most of their manual pages are beyond the understanding my simply coding abilities provide. I bet KGill could figure it out. --Cypressdome 23:43, 10 February 2014 (EST)
- Ask over at the forums? Eric 00:12, 11 February 2014 (EST)
My guess is that it's because the incipit field is part of the #fte:imslppage template. Certain wiki functions (e.g. tables) don't work when they're passed as parameters within an #fte template — P.davydov 07:35, 11 February 2014 (EST)
