Manuscript at Cambridge is signed and dated London, 1911 February 6. (This might still mean date composition was begun or another date but I agree generally it's safe to assume it means date composition was concluded.) Written in response to a commission by the Philharmonic Society for their 1912 centenary celebrations. Premiere and commission information from Dibble, pp.397, 474.

Parts have plate APS 9716 (source: Sir Thomas Beecham's inventory ("Beecham Orch 225", which contains a set of parts of Stanford's 7th symphony fully described.)
