Re 1887-12-2: an early performance but probably not the premiere. this from Musical Notes 1887 by Hermann Klein. This concert did contain the English premiere (at least, I am assuming- all Klein writes is, "for the first time"- perhaps it was the world premiere) of Sgambati's quartet.
