Historical Publication Info
History
Founded in 1905 by Alexis Rouart (1869-1921) through the purchase of the Paris publishers E. Meuriot, and E. Baudoux et Cie.. Rouart acquired the catalogs of the publishers Louis Gregh and Bellon, Ponscarme et Cie. in 1906-07.
Jacques Lerolle (Ernest Chausson's cousin) was associated with him from 1908 and continued to run the firm after Rouart's death. After Jacques' death, his son Paul (1906-1972) succeeded him but ultimately sold the catalogue to Francis Salabert in November 1953.
