Misc. Notes Arrangement broadly speaking (since an orchestral suite usually involves rewriting material once used in a dramatic context so that it works in a briefer purely orchestral setting- but all good arrangements may involve a fair amount of rewriting, often because of the change of medium. Then again, the 2 suites may deserve their own page, as we often do with orchestral suites from dramatic works (ballets, operas, ...) instead of trying to shoehorn them into "selections/arrangements and transcriptions/..." and etc. where they don't always quite fit :)

Misc. Notes Mentions the Choudens copyright of 1896 on the cover (which is, indeed, when some Godard's own arrangements of the Berceuse for violin and piano and for piano were published by Choudens, according to the Bibliographie de la France), but this Metzler edition doesn't seem to be mentioned until a few 1908 publications, making that year seem a likely date. (Though arrangements for cello and piano by the composer were also published by Choudens in 1889.)
