History

This series of popular salon pieces was published between about 1895 and 1910. It was similar in scope to the Trio Albums series. It was succeeded by Gaston Borch's Trio Arrangements ca. 1910-20. The second series was enlarged to create the Celebrated Compositions Arranged for Violin-Cello and Piano and Other Combinations series. An early version of Series 1 was entitled Home Recreations: A Collection of Choice, Duos, Trios, Quartettes, etc.
A similar series Selected Compositons for Two Violins and Piano was published by Fischer at the same time.
