Extra Information No.4 Narcissus is the composer's best known work for piano. It was described by H.T. Finck as "one of the most popular piano pieces ever written " in 1909 (20 Musical Evenings: The Pianola Baedeker). 60 years after its first publication, it was used in a hit novelty record known as "The Laughing Song" in 1954; see youtube.
