Navigation etc.

See Raff.org page for date information. Originally written for solo piano. Also, according to this page, dedication is to a Russian princess from the famous Galitzine family (think Beethoven associations) but which one is not specified? Edit: Schäfer (Chronologisch- systematisches Verzeichnis der Werke Joachin Raff's mit Einschluss der verloren gegangenen, unveröffentlichten und nachgelassenen Kompositionen dieses Meisters., 1888, republished in Thomas, 2011) p.115 (Appendix (Abteilung) II) is more specific, reproducing the name as given by Raff- see above- though S. Galitzine requires historical context to be helpful, I guess...)

Publication first announced in Monatsbericht (1869), p.105.
