Does Slåtten mean folksong or folk-dance as well as (in Swedish) mowing?

Answer: In all Nordic languages, 'slå' is a verb meaning strike or hit; in this context equivalent to strike up or start playing. In Norwegian, present perfect 'slått' has been turned into a noun denoting a traditional fiddle tune.
