Navigation etc.
Commissioned by Carl Stoeckel and his orchestra.
This is his second symphony to be begun and his first to be completed. His "Gulliver in Lilliput" symphony was begun in the 1890s but not completed or published until the 1930s (completed ca., published and copyrighted in 1936 and premiered in 1937.) . (Though the score preface more than suggests otherwise. Hrm.!)
