A quintet of Pappalardo's was published as his opus 23 in a complete edition Collezione in partitura delle opere musicali di Pappalardo by Napoli: Giannini. It might be this or one of at least three other string quintets in manuscript at Internet Culturale, or another still. The opus 23 quintet was mentioned in Niederrheinische Musik-Zeitung für Kunstfreunde und Künstler in 1854. -Schissel
