(Entering n.d. for want of date on parts.)

Assuming Bauck only wrote one string quartet (?) and that the date given in the following source is accurate (not sure of either statement, and HMB has nothing, neither does any online scanned-in-journal I can see unless Bauck was misspelled in scanning of course), (see below) Muslib.se shows a quartet by Bauck but gives publication date of ca.1863. (What is the source of the 1870 date? If Sibley, that is "ca.1870" as often as not - generally speaking. ) (Schissel)

Swedish Musical Heritage (SMH) points out that it is unclear whether 1863 actually applies. So this date may be a guess...

Republished in 2010 by Niedernhausen : Edition Kemel. (Perhaps the preface to this new edition will clear up various issues, if it a good and well-researched one.)

Mentioned in 1 June 1867 Lunds universitets årsskrift (a performance of this quartet, and Gille's piano trio) so at least composed not later than 1867.
