Extra Information According to Grove, the original version was baritone with male chorus and orchestra; the SATB version seems to have been a later one. Further, Wikipedia lists is as "for solo baritone, choir (mixed or men's voices) ad lib. and orchestra", which indicates that the chorus can be dispensed with. More information on when the SATB version was done, and by whom, would be appreciated.
