Misc. Notes

Paling&Co. moved to 338 George St. in 1875. In 1900 or so, its plate numbers were well in excess of the plate no. 26 on this score, though this could be a reprint (and it lacks the usual H. prefix of Paling scores- though perhaps that early, Paling scores did.) Still, 1875 to 1900, tending toward 1875, seems reasonable.

Navigation etc.
The once somewhat more popular "Serenade" by Beschnitt may have been either a member of either the opus 32 (7 Lieder für Mannerchor, pub.1868 by Bulang of Stettin) or op.35 (5 Lieder für Männerch., pub. 1870 by Bulang) set of choruses for male voices (though there isn't an exact match between the NLA scan's translation and the original first lines in German given in the HMB-RHUL database) .
