Apparently, the one piece to survive in the piano literature from this work was No.12 entitled Feu roulant. Etude d’agilité which was also published separately at the time as Op.263bis. A version for 2 pianos of No.12 appeared as Op.256 (published by Hofmeister, Monatsbericht (1868), p.19). It appears that subsequent editors of the solo piano version have all erroneously labeled it as being Op.256.
