Studies (for/from the incomplete opera "Doctor Faust") is used here more in the sense of "sketches" than studies as in "etudes", actually.

The list given at Wikipedia does not quite match: Elegy no.5 is "Die Nächtlichen (Walzer)" and Elegy no.6 is "Erscheinung (Notturno)", manuscripts @ Busoni Archive nos. 237-8, published 1908. However, Busoni, like Liszt and others in their tradition, was forever revising and reconsidering, so... ?.
