First movement performed in 1837 as "New Concerto (First Movement), E flat" and published in 1839 by Schott around 1839 as his 2nd concerto opus 19. The whole work was brought out in full in 1867 by Cramer of London and on the continent in 1869 by Senff (Temperley, the author of Hyperion's notes, claims 1868 for the Senff edition- this is possible.) In Benedict's official final list of works his first concerto is his concerto in C minor opus 45 published in 1852 initially premiered in 1850 as a Concertstück.
