Extra Information Perhaps more well-known as a Nocturne, the title Pastorale stems from the work's origins from the Divertissement linked above. It was titled Romance in some early editions. Most collections label it Nocturne No.7 (notably, by Schuberth) or No.8; the Litolff and Steingräber editions label it Nocturne No.9. Hofmeister was the first known publisher to label it a Nocturne, assigning it No.9 (Monatsbericht (1835), p.103).
