A puzzlement; Teller-Ratner (who does confirm from letters that the date of composition is 1869) and BNF give the Hartmann plate for this 1869 edition as G.H. 280, not 429. Could it have sold out so quickly as to require entirely new plates? What goes on? (And is the Heugel a reissue or a wholly new edition with new plates? This is unclear absent first editions &c. ...)
