filter: score filtered with 2-point algorithm explained in High Quality Scanning. I provide the original scanned version and the filtered, because the filter does some changes (smoothening, sharpening borders) and some portions of the scan get lost sometimes (when they are too small e.g.) - so you can choose your favorite. You may ask me for a manually cleaned version.

Version History

  • Composed for solo piano, 1855–59? (= S.434), based on the quartet "Bella figlia dell'amore" (Act III, No.18) from the opera Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi
Published 1860 by Schuberth & Co. (Hamburg/Leipzig)

A performance in 1862 in America is noted in a February 1862 Süddeutsche Musik-Zeitung (Volume 11). So the 1880 January Berlin performance, whoever it was, was not the premiere of this work.
