Moritz, Op.7
(C. Ad. Lorenz)
Contrast that with Lorenz's Op.25 that was published by Schlesinger in 1884 (only one year later) in which is found the following:
C. Ad. Lorenz, Op.25.
Hofmeister's Musikalisch-literarischer Monatsbericht lists Streiche (pranks/tricks) 1 and 2 as being Opp.1 and 2 by Moritz (Monatsbericht (1883), p.348) and lists the publication of the fifth prank as being Moritz's Op.11 (Monatsbericht (1887), p.355.
Evidently, Lorenz was having his own joke by having the cartoon character Moritz listed as the composer.
An earlier Op.7 was published in 1868 as by Karl Lorenz, 3 piano pieces Wie es euch gefällt book 1, but this may have been by Karl Daniel Lorenz or someone else with a similar name.
