Extra Information see below
  • Originally intended as Massenet's third orchestral suite (without referring to Les Érinnyes in the title and lacking the famous 'Élégie'), this work was revised and expanded alongside the full incidental music for an 1876 revival of the play. The suite was subsequently re-branded and Scènes dramatiques was later designated as troisième suite d'orchestre.
  • The original fourth movement of the suite (Air de danse des saturnales) does not appear in the original 1873 incidental music, but is restored in the 1876 revision.
