Misc. Notes Sung by Mad'lle Nau with rapturous applause at Niblos Garden.
"This beautiful Song, which is the Gem of the Opera, is enthusiastically encored every night it is sung."
"Mlle. Nau's ornamented delivery of the Air, "I deem thee not faithless," was delicious, and well deserved the encore it received." - N. Y. Herald
The music of The Syren is bright and scintillating, in the happy vein of the celebrated composer Auber. Miss Nau's singing of the slow aria, "I deem thee not faithless," was greatly approved. It was in the large style of Duprez, with whom she has sung so much." - Tribune
"Mlle. Nau's singing of the Romance, "I deem thee not faithless," was beautiful beyond conception. Nothing in the whole repertory of songs we have heard, has struck us as so exquisitely tender and affecting. It is the Gem of the Opera." - Mercury.
