At least on (my) Mac, tends to color-crash the computer if opened in a less robust PDF-viewer, so one suggests opening in something like Adobe (or GIMPS?) rather than Preview. This is, one guesses, a 2nd version of the opera written for France rather than a translation (even allowing that it is sometimes very difficult to draw a dividing line)-- especially given that a separate premiere date is given...

Fabrice was premiered/created by M. Moreau, who also created roles in Piccinni's Didon and other works. Zerbine seems to have been premiered (in the 1781 version) by a member of Nicolas Audinot's family, but it is unclear offhand which one, and the voice type is not given for these roles in the score (though it can be sometimes inferred from the scoring and from the other rôles taken by the creators, when known.) Le chevalier was created in this version by tenor (occasionally haute-contre, though??) Laînez (Étienne Lainez, 1753-1822) and Laurette by soprano Antoinette Saint-Huberty (1756-1812). Le Baron given as created by M. Cheron, perhaps "Augustin-Athanase Chéron", 1760-1829, basse-taille, also of the Académie. - ES
