Navigation etc.

Publication first announced in Hofmeister's Monatsbericht (1869), p.182. Plate number and publisher's address would suggest a date around 1862 to 1866.

An article in La Revue musicale - Volume 2 - Page 175, 1968, suggests a composition? date of 1861. Lévy's (Hermann-Lévy's?) arrangement was published in 1863 according to BdlF. It is listed among Gouvy's unpublished (but extant) works in (the Gouvy entry in) Fétis, 1862 (along with the sonata Op.56 and the piano quartet Op.51 e.g.)
