History

In 1823, Heinrich Albert Probst (1791-1846) founded his Leipzig publishing firm. The catalog contained many famous names of the day, such as Reissiger, Czerny, Pixis and Moscheles.
After 13 years, Probst sold the business to Carl Friedrich Kistner (1797-1844), and the firm was renamed Kistner.
