The song as it stands in its original form is a fragment. It has been completed by Reinhard van Hoorickx (1918-1997), who composed performing versions for many of Schubert's unfinished songs. Hoorickx's completion has been recorded by Michael Schade and Graham Johnson for the Hyperion label.
