History

Giuseppe Bellenghi (1847-1902) founded Forlivesi of Florence in 1882. His first item was a guitar tutor, but he later published classical music, opera, and songs. The catalog included Ildebrando Pizzetti’s opera Pisanella (libretto by d'Annunzio), and works by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Valentino Bucchi, Scarlino Vito Frazzi, Luciano Chailly, and Vittorio Gui. Popular song successes included Edoardo Spadaro's Firenze. Until the 1960s the Bellenghi family continued the business, but finally Gaetano Consolo took it over, operating on a print-on-demand basis.
