Reissiger earlier (1833) wrote and had published (HMB 1833, page 24) a pair of Souvenirs for piano the second of which has the same title. - Schissel

The text is a slightly changed version of a poem by Vincenz Zusner which appeared in "Orpheus: musikalisches Album" volume 1, p.265-66, under the name "Im Thale" (originally "Ich weilte jungst an jener Stelle" etc.). (Not the same text as Schreker's "Noch dasselbe Keimen" which is also identified as a setting of a poem originally called "Im Thale" by Zusner...)
