Interesting choice for a galop by Carl Faust when "Da bin ich!" is also associated with Gounod's opera Faust... (or just the original Goethe, I think, but it's been years since I've read it, interesting and good read though it was!)'
(Am guessing that the introduction in Maylath's arrangement is from the original score, though I have not seen it or even RISM information on it as I have in some other cases- in some of those other cases there has been an introduction in the original present in a small number of the arrangements but lacking in quite a few of the others.) - Schissel
(Also announced for piano in the same issue (November 1875) of HMB, though, and it's not clear whether Maylath was arranging from the original, now apparently lost or at least hard to find???..., orchestral or band parts. This is not true for all of Faust's dances - the Hesse library has parts for Auf ein Wort and the Helenen-Mazurka, for instance. The piano version of the original printing of this, btw, has plate J.1541 H. - a copy is at HBZ, Union Catalog North Rhine-Westphalia.)
