  • The contra and bassus parts are inscribed with the legend obelus quinis sedibus ipse volat, an instruction that the various sections of the piece should be played a fifth higher after initially playing at pitch.
  • According to Grove Music, most of the contents of the Harmonice Musices Odhecaton are chansons, and although most of them do not have text, the text would have either been known to the people of the time, or available elsewhere. There are a few pieces that may have been instrumental in origin. However, Grove Music does not list any instrumental music for Orto, and classifies this as a chanson. RISM also lists it as a vocal work. Accordingly, this has been tagged as a vocal chanson.
