"Daß ein Clavier für Anfänger besser sey, als ein Clavezimbel [harpsichord], oder Piano forte, ist wohl unstreitig, und die Erfahrung bestätigt es auch; denn, wer auf einem von diesen Instrumenten lernet, wird niemals die Feinigkeit im Anschlage und Ausdrucke bekommen, als einer der auf dem Claviere den Anfang gemacht hat. Kann man schon vom Blatte, rein und deutlich spielen, so gewöhne man die Finger zum Clavezimbel, man erlangt dadurch mehr Kraft im Spielen, und lernet die Finger besser aufheben."
