Extra Information Written for the mayoral procession at the opening of the Three Choirs Festival at Hereford Cathedral, 4 September 1927. Scored for full symphony orchestra without 1st and 2nd violins. Intended to be followed a side drum roll leading to Elgar's arrangement of "God Save the King" when the orchestral violins (silent until then) join with the chorus.
