These so-called "complete" Mazurkas, Published by Cuningham Boosey & Co., 296 Oxford Street, London. as part of their "Universal Edition". Cuningham Boosey should be placed in the following line, as referred to in the WikiTree resource :
Thomas Boosey (1767-1840) (parents unknown) 5 children. Established a book shop called Boosey and Sons or, from 1819, T&T Boosey, and this later became the Boosey publishing company through :
Thomas Boosey (1795-1871) : 14 children. Occupation : Book seller. An elder in the Sandemanian church, from which "he stepped down due to some problem
with his music publishing business", which infers he carried on with his father's trade.
John Boosey (1831 - 1893), one of the above children, occupation : Music Publisher & Musical instrument Manufacturer.
Edward Cunningham Boosey (1837 - 1902), children unknown, younger brother of the above, was "for many years manager, under his relative, the late Mr. John Boosey,
of the London Ballad Concerts, when those entertainments were the height of their popularity at St. James's Hall. He was the friend of a good many of the song composers of that day." (London Daily News, 27th August 1902). His activity as a music publisher and successor(s) not mentioned in the aforesaid records. At the bottom of the last page in the present score, we have the mention : "Printed by Cuningham Boosey & Co's Steam Presses, 296, Oxford Street, W." The weekly merchandizing journal The Erasl for December 27, 1878, advertizes Cuningham Boosey's 'Universal Music' Classical (as distinct from 'Modern', which includes Brahms) Pianoforte catalog with "The whole of the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Chopin, Schumann, Bach, &c. The choice of his second name instead of his first, and dropping one -n in the process is unexplained.
