Choix des pièces

Favorite melodies for violin or cello and piano, by mainly contemporary composers, some original and some arranged, graded in six levels for amateur use.

Les Fleurs du Violoniste, Melodies favorites, Les Perles du Violoniste and Répertoire des Pièces were similar collections from the same publisher.
Several items were reprints of arrangements by Adolphe Herman, mainly from his Les premiers pas du jeune violoniste, published by Grus of Paris in the 1870s.
At some point the series was issued without Paschalski's items; see the second cover. Sennewald extended the series, adding seventh and eighth levels, changing the contents of levels four and five, and also excluding the Paschalski items; see the third cover. Paschalski's items were issued in two separate series; see lower covers.
