Detailed biography: Shape-note tunebook compiler active in Wilson County, Tennessee in the first part of the nineteenth century. He is most likely the same W. Moore listed in the 1820 Tennessee census as being a farmer above the age of 45 and the owner of 14 slaves (Hatchett).
