Son of violinist
Jean Becker (1833—1884).
His brother Hans Becker was the second violinist of the first
Brodsky Quartet from 1885, where from 1885 to 88 he was a colleague of Brodsky,
Hans Sitt and
Julius Klengel.
His sister Jeanne was a cellist who played in the family quartet.
Hugo Becker was the cellist of the Frankfurt
Museums-Quartett ca. 1880-1900 with
Hugo Heermann (1st vl) Bassermann (2nd vl) and
Adolf Rebner (va)
