It seems possible - maybe likely - that this White, Smith & Co. 1878 publication was itself a reprint of an earlier ca.1876 White, Smith & Perry publication, as with his Op.87 and similar earlier works by Ryder many of which seem to have been first published, say, between 1870 and 1874 but then republished when Perry left the company (with the Roman-numeral copyright date smudged to say mdccclxxxviii , etc.) - Schissel
