In the latter, the editor informs us his edition is based on J.Stamitz's 6 Orchestral Trios op.1 published in 3 books by De La Chevardière in Paris, about 1755. The manuscript parts in the Bavarian State Library at Munich were also consulted. He has strengthened the string orchestra with an optional Viola part which doubles the Bass, and advises to add a Double Bass if a larger combination is required. The Cembalo or Piano can be dispensed with.
