The date of first publication remains unclear. The publisher was only called "Herrmann Beyer und Söhne" after 1875. As the following issues of the "Orgelmagazin" are numbered up to op. 272, the first issue was likely published significantly earlier. This assumes, however, that Kern indeed used a consecutive numbering for his pieces.
