Wilke of Berlin operated in the 1940s, but was bought by Ries & Erler in the 1950s. It published two types of works: firstly popular songs, such as the patriotic songs Matrosenlied. (Wir fahren gegen Engelland.) by Hermann Löns and Niel, or Kamerad, wir marschieren im Westen! (Frankreichlied) by Anacker and Niel; secondly, for example, several works by Gustav Adolf Schlemm (1902-87) such as Capriccio for Violine und Orchestra and his Oboe Sonatina (both 1941). Other composers published by Wilke included Hans Bullerian (his opera Steuben), Hermann Unger (1886-1958) (his chamber suite for string quartet or string orchestra, Op.69, ©1939), etc.
