A note on the title page indicates the year 1859 and Julius Rietz (1812—1877), Hegar's composition teacher at the Leipzig Conservatory. Either holograph or the work of an incompetent copyist, given all the crossouts and errors (see the bass line on page 20, last system - one flat too few); one might assume the former. However, see below.
