1899 from Grote, 1994 (Robert Fuchs : Studien zu Person und Werk des Wiener Komponisten und Theorielehrers), table of contents, chapter-heading for chapter III:4 ; also from chronological worklist (Grote, p.211.) (which still means that while it was published around the time that Op.83 (Cello Sonata no.2) was, for example, that work was also composed in 1908, whereas the viola sonata was composed, if 1899 isn't a typo on the manuscript, somewhat after the Op.63 Andante grazioso & capriccio (April-May 1899). Happens!) (It is possible the date on the manuscript is the date composition was begun, though that might not have been Fuchs' practice.) - ES
