History
Tiago Henrique Canongia was a music professor and salon orchestra director in Rio de Janeiro. In 1866 he founded Lyra de Apolo, a music store in Rio de Janeiro and started publishing music. After his death in 1872, the store and publishing house was directed by his widow (Viúva Canongia). The house was famous for publishing music by important Brazilian popular composers such as Henrique Alves de Mesquita, Joaquim Callado, Anníbal Napoleão and Chiquinha Gonzaga.
