The composition resembles an operatic scene with solo arias and a concluding ensemble. The first part of the ensemble (measure 107-120) is kind of a quodlibet, combining motives, characters - and meters - from the preceding arias. Hence the quite unusual differing meters and performance indications in each of the vocal parts! One of the more remarkable results of Gerson's preoccupation with counterpoint.
