Stassoff is usually associated with Wladimir Stassoff (1824-1906) in most references though perhaps 4 or 5 distinct "Google hits" - if that many" mention fleetingly a D. Stassoff also as a dedicatee of this or that work, but without much detail. (M. I take to mean Mr. or Monsieur.) Perhaps the two were relatives...
Contains a harp cadenza, so the orchestra should hire a good harpist, of course.
