Scott Giles is a composer/conductor, writer and poet, "Desperately believing in the power of beauty and its ability to change the world."
Scott has written symphonies, concerti, string quartets, two operas and many sonatas for numerous instruments as well as a host of other Classical, Jazz and ethnic-styled works. He was director of The August Ensemble for six years where, along with his own music, he conducted many of the great works of the classical masters.
Scott is currently living in Portland, Oregon with Gabriella, his partner of 17 years who is a writer and former ballet dancer. In 2014 Scott had a 12-inch-long aortic dissection which cut off blood flow to his spinal cord and left him a T5 paraplegic. He continues to write and compose.
